La Vida en Mexico

Member-Brian Where-Mexico (Guadalajara and Guanajuato) Date Began- January 7th Goal- to get past the tourist-phase of being in another country, to live and contribute to those in the places where I am staying. Not being someone who simply takes pictures and migrates on to another location but takes the time to care for the people in developing countries. Activities- In the early morning you can find me gliding through the cobblestone streets on my morning run. I continue to attract more stares than I like..but I guess this comes with the territory, being a runner. After breakfast I generally spend my time studying studying Spanish and Christian Science in a park or plaza near the towering Cathedral in the towns center. The day would not be complete without some futbol...the most popular game in the world. The first day in Mexico when I pulled out one of my 2 previously deflated soccer balls I had 10 kids screaming, Partido! Partido! or game on! game on! I have been blessed to have met several good friends who I can go out to eat with and speak with. I have spent much of my afternoon and evenings talking with local shop-keepers, watching mariachi bands, taking peaceful strolls around the beautiful town center in Guadalajara, or joining a host of rabid fans in a local restraunt to watch the Mexican futbol teams on TV.
